In the afternoon, Xiao Nong went to check the seeds he had planted yesterday.

▸ 他tā蹲dūn下来xià lai看kàn，说shuō：“小xiǎo芽yá有yǒu多duō小xiǎo？怎么zěn me还hái看不见kàn bù jiàn？”

He squatted down and said, "How tiny must the sprouts be? I can't see them yet!"

▸ 忽然hū rán，一只yī zhī小鸡xiǎo jī跑pǎo过来guò lái啄zhuó地dì。

Suddenly, a little chicken ran over and pecked at the ground.

▸ 小xiǎo农nóng吓一跳xià yī tiào，说shuō：“你nǐ多duō馋chán啊ā！想xiǎng吃chī我的wǒ de种子zhǒng zi吗ma？”

Xiao Nong jumped and said, "How greedy you are! Do you want to eat my seeds?"

▸ 小鸡xiǎo jī被bèi吓xià到dào，跑pǎo开了kāi le。

The chicken got scared and ran off.

▸ 小xiǎo农nóng扒开bā kāi一点yī diǎn土tǔ，小声xiǎo shēng问wèn：“种子zhǒng zi还hái在zài吗ma？”

Xiao Nong brushed aside a little soil and asked quietly, "Are the seeds still there?"

▸ 看到kàn dào种子zhǒng zi安全ān quán，他tā松了sōng le口气kǒu qì，说shuō：“我wǒ多duō幸运xìng yùn啊ā！”

Seeing the seeds were safe, he sighed in relief and said, "How lucky I am!"
