在疫情刚爆发时，这些避孕套生产企业曾乐观地认为，由于经济不稳定，以及工厂不能生产等因素，避孕套将会出现短缺的情况。
但是后来的现实让他们大失所望，避孕套销量大幅下降。
据业内人士分析，销量的下降或许与使用场景有关。
除了家庭以外，还有很多其他使用场景。
比如在中国市场，接近一半的使用是发生在家庭以外的地方。
在疫情的影响下，人和人之间的沟通和接触减少，避孕套的使用频率也就减少了。
很多企业在销量下降后，将目光转向了医用手套的生产。
因为两种产品的原材料相近，又都属于医疗器械。

当然，转型也会遇到各种困难，真正转型成功的企业并不多。
对于中国来说，目前的避孕套生产有产能过剩的现象，这对于很多没有技术和实力的企业是不乐观的。
但与此同时，有公司表示线下销售量虽然下降，线上销售量却在平稳增长。
