6月13日是山西省太原市的文化和自然遗产日，这一天也是有2500年历史的晋阳古城遗址二号建筑基址首次对外开放。
来自当地的文物爱好者、专家等一起站在遗址之上触摸历史。
该遗址发掘面积约7000余平方米，这是目前中国国内发掘出土面积最大，保存最完整的唐五代建筑基址，对研究那时候的建筑布局和技术工艺有重要价值。
基址上有保护大棚，可以让民众透过围栏近距离观看考古发掘现场和文物出土场景，再加上出土文物陈列、图文介绍、声光电等视觉效果，使文物活了起来。
