有一天早晨，曾参的妻子准备到集市上去买点儿东西。
小儿子看见了，一定要跟妈妈一起去。
曾参的妻子没办法，就随口说:"好孩子，你听话，妈妈回来给你杀猪吃肉。
”不久，曾参的妻子从集市上回来了，只见曾参正在磨刀准备杀猪。
她立即阻止了丈夫。
曾参却指着站在旁边兴奋的小儿子说：“刚才你出门时跟孩子说了什么，难道忘了吗？
”“哎呀，我那是骗他的，只是想让他留在家里。
”妻子说。
曾参严肃起来：“孩子还不懂事，他的行为都是跟大人学的。
我们承诺了却不做，那是在教孩子撒谎。
