2019年的世界VR产业大会上，中国工信部部长表示，中国是全球虚拟现实产业创新创业最活跃、市场接受度最高、发展潜力最大的地区之一。
虚拟现实产业有几个特点，第一是研发制造体系已经基本形成，第二是用户体验有很大改善，第三是VR内容资源越来越丰富，第四是融合、创新越来越快，VR技术在教育、设计、制造、展览等领域都有越来越多的应用，不断和传统行业融合。
而中国，目前生产了全球70%以上的高端VR设备，已经具备了比较好的设计制造能力。
